A member performs on the music scene

Member of the FOH department, Mathieu Laberge will present his "folk" songs on stage during May and June in the Montreal area. His next show is on May 23th at the Station 21, for only 5$. Visit his website for more infos.

Certification request for the Montreal Scotia Bank Theatre

On April 24th, the local 262 has filled a certification request to the Quebec "Commission des relations du travail", in order to represent the employees (front of house) of the Montreal Scotia Bank Theatre (Cineplex Entertainment). The previously known Paramount theatre is located on the Ste-Catherine street and employs more than 100 persons.

The request for certification should be heard during the month of May.

IATSE joins the Union Savings program

New contract at the cinéma Beaubien

In assembly, the front of house employees of the cinéma Beaubien have accepted their new contract. During two years, this contract includes a gain on the salaries. The document will be online soon.

Agreement at the cinéma Beaubien

- December 14th 2007

On the December 11th, the owner of the cinéma Beaubien and the front of house employees, represented by the local 262, concluded an agreement. It would be the second contract for this cinema, that first needs to be accepted by the employees in the next days.

Gabriel Julien wins at OD

- November 18th, 2007

Congratulation to Gabriel Julien, an ex-member of the local 262 (cinema Quartier Latin) for his victory on the tele-reality show Occupation Double (TVA).

Disscounts with the 262 membership

Members of the local 262 get access to discounts with our partners (L'Équipeur, New Look and Banque Laurentienne). They're now shown online in the Discounts section.

Local 262 obtains certification for the AMC Forum 22

- September 21th, 2007

At the hearing at the Commission des relation du travail, held on September 5th, the local 262 got the the certification needed to represent the employes from the AMC Forum 22. The certification covers employes from the "front of house" and also the projectionnists.

In the next weeks, the local 262 will work with the employes to make sure the first project of collective agreement meets their expectations.

First collective agreement at the Cavendish cinema

- September 7th, 2007

Front of house employees from the Cavendish cinema (Montreal) now have a first collective agreement, beginning on September 5th. During 2 years, the contract will end in March 2009.

The local section 262 represents these employees since 2006, when the negotiations begun with the employer, Fortune Cinemas.
